Janell 's thoughts:

This is my third year running the Broadway Bridge run, as part of the Heartland 30K series. The race seems to be improving each year. The quality of shirts, medals and awards was great this year. I was not a fan of the parking. You either had to pay to park or park in the street. The course has changed slightly over the last couple years, but the main portions have stayed the same. Its a hilly course, starting down town by the sprint center, crossing over the bridge. The 10k spilts off and goes around a small parking lot before heading back over the bridge, while the half marathon went around the airport. The part heading to the bridge wasn't horrible, but once you cross back across the bridge you get some pretty tough hills. The down hills are steep which will really pound on your legs.

It was pouring down rain, so I admit I didn't hang around to check out the refreshments offered at the end of the race. The first I ran the race, it was blazing hot. So typical Missouri weather.

Here is a picture of the 2014 medal and this years medal. Lots of improvement. I also have to show off the awesome Baton I got as the OA female.
This is a tough course, but a great event. The race is put on my KCPD raising money for special Olympics.
