Christine Guenther's thoughts:

I ran Broad Street in 2010 and 2011 while living in Philadelphia. At that point, it was done by first come first serve registration, however, they've since gone to a lottery system because of the amount of people trying to get into the race.

The Race: Point to point race. Park close to the Navy Yard where the race finishes and either take the shuttle or SEPTA to the start of the race by Einstein Hospital. The course is flat and straight. The only turns you have is when you go around City Hall. Expect a good amount of support of from fans. Within the first 1/2 mile, expect to see people from one of the churches out supporting you (priests, nuns and all). Water every mile or so to keep you going.

The Expo: Held at Lincoln Stadium normally (I think it's moved since). Good amount of vendors around. Enjoy it while you're there.

Medals: Decent- another one for the collection!

Shirts: Both of mine from 2010 and 2011 are the same design, except different colors. Same goes for the volunteer shirts

the Finish: The Navy Yard. Expect some post race shenanigans to enjoy- music, food etc and an easy walk back to your car

A race to do at least once if you can!
