Breathtaking views, very well organized!
You cannot beat the views (as long as the weather co-operates) of this race. I ran leg three with by most standards is "the" best leg of the race. Leg 3 includes a 2 mile trek up hurricane point (max elevation is 1,023) but worth every step and every breath. With rolling terrain thereafter you are treated to view of the ocean and a run over the famous Bixby Bridge.
BSIM always puts on a well organized race. Everything from the buses to get you where to be to the finish line. Water stations are always well staffed with friendly faces. On course entertainment on my leg included drums and a piano player's tunes sweetly drifting off the hills and out into the ocean. Relay points were also well organized while you wait with port-o-potties nearby and water and snacks available to those finishing and those waiting for their turn to run. The relay buses also wait with you so you can hang out on them to stay out of the early morning cold until it close to your turn to run.
Tech shirts are long sleeve asics brand and are nice.
Make Big Sur a bucket list race if you can!
