This is a really fantastic race run by experienced ultrarunners who put on a wonderful event in a beautiful preserve with amazing aid stations. I ran the Double Marathon this year and plan on running it again next year!

The course for this race is beautiful with a great variety of terrain and views. As you might expect from a trail race there are many roots, rocks, rolling hills, and the potential for mud. Despite this the race has a forgiving surface and is less intense and technical than some other trail ultra-marathons in our region. For this reason, this course is ideal for an experienced ultra-marathoner who wishes to go for a fast time or for a runner who seeks to run their first ultramarathon in a setting which will allow them to enjoy their experience. Because of the generous time allowances it is also a good event for someone seeking to fast-hike the distance.
