Nothing much new to add to this year. One of the best 5k's in the city (IMO). Super easy to get to (we're in Logan, just drove up and found parking), great competition, fast course. Wasn't expecting a PR this day so that was a nice surprise. We'll be here every year.

Another year, another shuffle! Wind and cool temps hindered the southbound legs of the race, but it was still fun getting out w/ the racing team! This unofficial start of the running season is always well supported and attended. While I was a bit off of my PR, I was happy with the results, all things considered. I'll definitely be toeing the line next year with dreams of sub30 in my head!

Glad it warmed up a little for this race! My wife and I know a few people associated with Back On My Feet so we were excited to participate. I ran the 5k (haven't been running a lot over the winter) which started shortly after the 10k. This was a fairly straight forward out and back course which the organizers did a good job of clearing post-blizzards. Amazing post race food courtesy of Thomas, Entenmann's, among others. No PR this winter but this is a fun, small race to keep you going through the winter.

As others have said, this year was perfect for a winter race. The prerace/postrace location in the United Club was fantastic. Had it actually been cold, the shelter would have been most welcomed. The new location was great for a half. Personally, I enjoy the south end of the path. Think of this as a longer version of the Soldier Field 10 Miler. I hope they keep it down here for years to come. Packet pickup was a breeze the day before. Multiple pickup days/locations helped spread out the crowds I'm sure. The stocking hat/tech gloves are decent quality - I'll probalby get more use out of them than a pullover. Can't wait to run the lake again next year!

While not one of the major turkey trots in the city/suburbs, this small 5k does a good job of managing a 5k along the path. The actual race was an L-shaped out-and-back and started around Museum Campus and headed north to Monroe. It snaked around Grant Park during the last mile, finishing at the same spot. This is a very flat, fast course with good crowd support and aid station(s). My wife and I left pretty much right after so I can't comment on the postrace festivities. My only real complaint was the packet pick-up. This took place in the Road Runner Sports store on Kingsbury. It was greatly understaffed by All Community Events (Not RRS's fault). RRS did a great job of keeping the line moving and even handed out coupons for the wait (we've always had good experiences there). If you're looking for a small 5k after Thanksgiving - give this one a shot!
