What do you get when a race is organized by the greatest hockey player ever? Sheer friggin' greatness! Where's the packet pickup? Only itty bitty friggin' Consol! "6.6k is a weird distance," is something you would say if you didn't realize that's the jersey number of the greatest man in hockey! As for scenery, they shut down Centre, Liberty, and two bridges to view the greatest city on earth: Pittsburgh. But, every race must end and that sucks...UNLESS YOU'RE WATCHING A SCRIMMAGE GAME OF THE PENGUINS! Yep, you get a medal and a Pens dry tech long sleeve shirt. Seriously, all the other races aren't even trying...

Really, long sleeve shirts in September? Anyways, they shut down the Lake Shore Drive for almost the entire race, so you're not stuck shuffling through people the entire way. That, plus an out and back course, makes this easy to PR...as long as it stays cool. Enjoyed the deep dish pizza. Enjoyed the extra one after I found a ticket on the ground :)

It's an okay 5k. I had an injury, so I wasn't feeling it. Just your standard LFT or Lincoln Park race. Nothing special. I like the shirts because they are tech material, but feel like real cotton.

Great race. Ton of people. They shut down streets for you on the West Loop and treat you to an after race scrimmage. I also got a Blackhawks shirt and a bobble head doll, my first Blackhawks gear ever. Refreshments could be better.

You're running on an airport runway. If you can't PR, you never will! The refreshments are okay and you get to run under an airplane. It's your race to break up the boredom of training.
