Everything about this race is incredible! It lives up to the hype for sure!

Expo:
The expo was the best I've ever been to. It was marked out with a red carpet leading you to where you needed to go, and the displays and tables were set up to direct traffic. Finding the table to get your bib was marked really well, which made it easy.

The sponsor booths were great too! They had anything and everything you needed for race day or for training. Everyone was so kind and helpful!

Race Day:
There were a significant amount of port-a-potties at the starting line and throughout the course. Finding our assigned corral was a breeze. The atmosphere was electric as they blasted fun music and had a lively announcer. The race started promptly at 8:00 and had wave start. I'm not sure what the time intervals were between the corrals, but being in the 10th corral, we started by 8:15 and it was plenty of time for everyone ahead of us and around us to spread out and establish their paces.

For the most part, the race was flat but it did have a couple hills. Overall it wasn't too challenging. I loved running through beautiful neighborhoods and Dallas landmarks, and it was a blast to end at fair park!

The bands throughout the course were great and exciting! The groups of cheerleaders were fun and so encouraging. Even the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders were cheering right before the finish line!

Overall, this was by far my favorite race! I'd recommend it to anyone, regardless of running or race experience!

"Fun Environment!"

The environment was fun with lots of support for a small race. The course was flat, looped course that was all pavement, which killed my knees and feet (and I don't have knee or foot problems, so I can't imagine how those who do struggled on the course). The first couple miles, 10th mile, and last two miles have a lot of support, but the rest of the time it didn't feel like I was running a race because there weren't any spectators.

The one big complaint I have with this race is that at the finish line the only refueling they offered was half a banana. No water, no gatorade, no bagels, not even a full banana. After paying the fee that I did to run, plus beating my feet against pavement for 13.1 miles, I deserved more than half a banana.

The race medals are awesome though! The race is offered on New Years Eve and New Years Day, so if you run the same race both days, you get a HUGE medal that has room for both race day medals.

This was the inaugural race for Wally Watkins Elementary's PTA and they did a fantastic job! The atmosphere was fun, the race was exciting, the course included one hill (so had a challenge) and loved the refreshments afterwards!

The packet pickup was on race day and was well organized. The race started promptly a 8am, which is important to me. The course was primarily through a couple residential areas, but there were open fields at some points too. It was close to an out and back course. There weren't any aid stations (that i remember) on the course, but the one at the finish line was great. It included fruit, bagels, water and gatorade.

I'd definitely recommend this race, especially as a fun way to kick off Thanksgiving!
