I actually ran the full 10 mile race in July 2021 in Columbus. It was my second full Tough Mudder and I would argue it was better than the first. It rained on us pretty much the whole time we were on the course but honestly sometimes that feels better than being muddy all the time! You're wet anyway so what the heck! The obstacles in Columbus seemed way bigger, better, and harder than the first Tough Mudder that I ran which was so awesome and definitely required some teamwork to get through. If you're looking to run hard and play hard, this is the race for you.

I had a great time running in DC! I came to visit a friend for the weekend so, between our time and the race, I felt like I really got to enjoy the local DC scene and not just the big tourist traps. The first half of the course was pretty flat but, as other reviewers said, that hill at mile 6 just about killed me. I did not know it was coming and wish that race organizers had posted an elevation map prior to the race because I was not prepared. I'm not sure if I was delusional from the hill or if it didn't exist this year but I think I missed the infamous Blue Mile, which I was really looking forward to running through. The spectators along the course were the best I'd ever seen, lining portions of every street and many handing out snacks and drinks out of the kindness of their hearts. The energy of the spectators and runners was unbeatable. I used the metro to get around and I think this was the best strategy. I was a little disappointed by the expo and the VIP tent at the end (no massages, what???) which is strange for Rock 'n' Roll but I'll give them a little leniency for the fact that this was the first race back in DC post-COVID. Overall I highly recommend this race!

This was an absolutely fantastic race to run. I ran this race with my sister (it was her first half marathon) and my dad (it was supposedly his last half marathon). My mom came to cheer us on and was thoroughly entertained throughout the race. We stayed at a local hotel so the start line, finish line, expo, and post-race party were all accessible by walking. The course itself was absolutely beautiful - maybe a little hillier than I expected but the views throughout the park were worth it. This race really lights up the town. Afterward, we went around the all the local joints to collect our pins and sample various bourbons. This made the race so much fun for all of us, including my mom who was just there as a spectator. The post-race party is also probably the best one I've ever encountered.

This four miler was a fun little race! It is mostly on flat streets and the scenery isn't crazy awesome but if you want to go out and push yourself to get in four flat fast miles, this is the race for you. I loved the apparel options they had and so many people were dressed up for St. Patrick's Day! The race is definitely on the smaller side but it worked out for me because I won 2nd in my age group (out of 3) and received a pint glass for it! So fun!

I worked the expo for this race for a few years and then ran it in the Spring of 2019. This course is my current PR. It is SUPER hilly and the weather is usually on par for a cool Spring morning in Indiana, but I personally love hilly courses. This race offers great views and an awesome experience of the Indiana University campus to strangers and locals alike. Although it's a smaller race, track clubs across the US come to town for this race and help put Bloomington on the map.
