I decided to run this race because it was pretty inexpensive as far as half marathons go. Of course, it moved to virtual due to COVID-19. The packet pickup was well-managed, with volunteers wearing masks and gloves bringing our swag right out to our car. Some friends and I met up and started the race at the same time at a local park. We had fun, but I'm hoping to experience this race in person one year!

I had so much fun doing this race last year that I knew I wanted to do it this year. Then, of course, COVID happened. They had the green light to move forward with an in-person race, but after reviewing their COVID precautions, I decided I wasn't comfortable with it and switched to the virtual option. (As a note, I saw several participants comment on social media that they thought the race was managed well, but this was a personal decision for me.) Instead, a few women from my running group met up to run it at the same time (but not together). The race was over a month ago and I still haven't received my swag, which is why I rated it and most everything else about the race three stars (since I picked the virtual option).

I loved this race so much last year that I was excited to run it again this year! I was hoping it would be in-person, but due to COVID they switched it to virtual. I'm always nervous about getting lost on trails, but DC Timing did a great job marking the course. They gave everyone a week to complete it. The course itself is beautiful with some elevation, but nothing too difficult. This was my first time running this course when it was dry, and it made a world of difference. In spite of it being a virtual race, DC Timing still managed to make it fun.

I was so excited to run this race, because it would've been my first race in my hometown! Unfortunately, due to COVID, the race was rescheduled from March to November, and then went completely virtual. I was super impressed because once this change was announced, the race organizers wasted no time mailing everyone our swag! We received a technical Boco hat, a tech shirt, 13.1 sticker, and a huge medal! I ended up running the race in Louisville at The Parklands and was really happy with my time. Hopefully I'll be able to run it in Owensboro soon!

DC Timing knows how to plan a fun race! The t-shirts are super soft and cute, and there's coffee and donuts at the end. This is one of my favorite trail courses. There's almost always creek crossings and it's muddy fun. I'm a casual trail runner, and this is perfect for speedy trail runners and people like me.
