This was part 2 of the Beach to Bayou Challenge and I hands down recommend the challenge- two of my favorite races! This weekend we did the quarter marathon on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday. The course support for the half marathon was amazing; the community and college came out to cheer us on and support us- some parts felt as if I were in a parade. For completing both races you receive a crawfish platter which came in handy for carrying all the amazing post race food! So. Much. Good. Food! Only complaint is the shirts, all shirts have the same design which is kinda disappointing if you are running multiple races- however the fabric is amazing! Highly suggest running this race!!

We completed the Beach to Bayou Challenge in 2017/2018. For the Mississippi portion, we ran the 5k on Saturday then the half marathon on Sunday. For completing both races you receive a crawfish platter which was perfect on Sunday for loading up on all the post race food! Hands down probably some of the best post race food- so much variety and fresh seafood! We stayed at the Best Western across from the finish line instead of a casino, and I highly recommend as the location was a short walk to change clothes then go back and enjoy the after party. The view in the race was beach front the whole way! We had freak weather and it was actually extremely cold- low 30s!! It was snowing Friday night- but typically I think the temperatures are more mild! Expo was small but good. Only complaint were the shirts, they look exactly the same for the 5k and half vs the race distance- it would have been nice to have different designs for those running both. Overall, can't recommend this race enough!!
