I ran the marine corps marathon virtual (because, 2020) and I was amazed at the quality of the event despite the lack of an actual event. The marine corps marathon does an amazing job of pulling you into an experience that feels significant, digging deep for strength you didn’t know you had, and making you want to do it all over again the minute you are done. This was my first marathon and I felt celebrated and noticed. Amazing experience. And the swag is high quality, durable, and really amazingly designed.

I ran this race virtually so I don’t know much about the actual event. But I do know the course scenery is picturesque small town Virginia which is very pleasing. The marine corps does an amazing job with motivation with their running events.
Unfortunately, the medal was huge and ugly and a big disappointing. The shirt is good quality and adequate design. I did, however have an amazing time with this race since I had a huge PR 💪🏼

This race has a nice community friendly feel to it as its participants are mostly residents of Quantico. The scenery is beautiful with a nice long straight away through the trees along the Potomac across Quantico. But I was disappointed there was no medal. The shirts were nice, but I felt like it was a huge disappointment to have no medal or coin to mark the achievement. Though the gloves and food and tshirt were very nice and I wore them all winter.

This was a perfect First race for me. The event is full of little details that make the day incredibly special and exciting. The course never gets boring, taking a tour of many of San Diego's finest attractions. The race starts at dawn on Point Loma which is a cliff top ocean peninsula overlooking the Pacific, the San Diego Bay, and downtown. The race start is exciting and loud, but there is a spot overlooking the ocean which is bathed in quiet where many runners sit to watch the first rays of sunlight, while meditating, reading, or just enjoying the view in preparation for the race. I enjoyed every bit of this day and I would love to run this race again soon.
