I was a little disappointed in the expo at first as I would have like to purchase some extra gear but there wasn’t a huge selection. The QR code made bib pick-up super easy and painless and a few great speakers made for the lack of merch and vendors.
The start area was amazing (Centennial Olympic Park) with lots of room for everyone. The wave start was seamless and easy to navigate. The course itself was super challenging with lots of rolling hills. Aid stations were plentiful lining both sides of the course with amazing volunteers. Lots of great views of the city that you might not discover if you are from out of town. You finish the race running back into Centennial Olympic Park! After you collect your finisher medal you get a great disposable jacket and many great snack options. The finishing touch is the free race photos emailed to you very quickly with updates as photos are added.

Awesome race atmosphere, with a huge crowd support for the entire course! Making the right on Hereford than left on Boylston and crossing over the Marathon Finish Line is an awesome feeling! Don’t plan to race this event for a PR this race is very overcrowded, and the self-seeding start just doesn’t work for this event because no one starts in the right pace range. If this changes it would be a 5+ star event. This event embraces the spirit of the marathon and the excitement all around marathon weekend.
