After moving to Seattle a few months ago, I was on the hunt for races in the area as I train for a Marathon in November. I came across the Women of Wonder 10k, which seemed like a nice event. No real expo (packet pick up at the local running store). Day of, it was chilly and slightly rainy. Mainly women running the event (although there were a few men..). Lots of people wearing Wonder Women gear.

The race itself was nice, 2 laps around Greenlake for the 10k. The course wasn't closed, so you were having to navigate among those that were just walking/running on the path themselves, so it was a pain having to dodge them. The path around Greenlake is fairly flat, but pretty to run around the lake (my first time there), so I enjoyed it. There was supposed to be a water/aid station at the 5k turn off point, but I didn't notice it (not an issue, since I wasn't planning on stopping). The tech shirt is cute, but I really love the medal. Made the race worth it.

At the finish area, there were some vendors and a mimosa/wine garden, plus a food truck giving out free grilled cheese. Nice race, great to see so many women and kids running, plus the men supporting as well. Would definitely consider doing this again next year!
