The Trinity River Run was a fun event to race in. The views were nice and it was an evening run which made it unique. The view of Dallas and the bridge were really cool and was a great way to start and end the race. The rest of the course however was very sub-par. You run through very rough areas passing homeless people, seeing run down buildings, and smelling the dirty areas of Dallas. The road conditions in these parts was also not great and I could see myself twisting an ankle somewhat easily.

It was a fun event that I would recommend to somebody who has not done it before but I think once was good for me. They do have a fun option to run multiple race lengths all in succession. I ran the Half + 5k, I got a medal for each of the races as well. It was a cool challenge. They stagger the start times to where depending on your speed in the half you may be able to finish before the next race starts or just turn right back around and keep going.

The organization was a bit sloppy and everything just felt a bit disjointed. There was a decent amount of chaos and confusions at the start of the half. It could have ran a whole lot smoother for sure.

The extra challenge, sunset start time, and the skyline view make this a unique race that Dallas racers should try once but it may not become a regular race to stick on the calendar.
