Great Local race for those looking for a thanksgiving half or 5k! Course is flat with decent number of spectators to keep it fresh. Aid stations are water only so on humid days it can be disappointing. Must arrive 45mins to 1hr early to park remotely close to start/finish. Race day registration is easy and quick. Plenty of bathrooms along the course and at the start.

Excellent kick off to Marathon weekend! I’m
Not sure if it’s the largest 5k in the country, but it seems like it. Excellent shirt quality and post race snacks. Great for spectators to see elites while cheering on us mere mortals! Fun to run the end of marathon course and be a part of the amazing energy that surrounds Boston every April!

Great large race. Fun to see elites come and run speedy times. Weather is typically hot and humid. Aid stations may or may not have anything other than water. Post race festivities are fantastic for all ages. The kids races are free and lots of fun including a shirt and medal! Course for the 15k is mostly flat except two bridges. Final bridge is fun to try and run a mile PR at the end!

Course has a net downhill, but don’t discount the hills within the race! Mile 3-4 has a steep long uphill. Use the pacers, they are so wonderful and all were encouraging their runners and coaching them along the way to get even faster times while the pacer stayed on track. The psych team along the race is also a really neat perk for first or fiftieth time marathoners. The wind can be difficult along the lake and you do pass the finish around mile 20, but as long as you are aware it’s no big deal! I hope to run this course again!

Running a shorter distance than the marathon gives you the experience of this city without the miles! The shorter race follows the marathon course for a bit and starts before the marathoners so if you time it right you can still see your marathoner along the course! Some hills may be difficult for those accustomed to flat running. Crowd support is excellent especially through the neighborhoods. Race day weather is always within the ideal range! Expo is combined with the marathon expo so it’s worth checking out!
