The city really comes out for this event, through the various neighborhoods and meet up points for the relay exchanges.

The course is definitely one that would eat you up if not ready for some of the hills and elevation changes on the bridges, but the course it setup for you to have some fun and get introduces to some great Pittbsurghers while looking forward to a great May race.

Wether has been pretty good for the half, nice crisp and cool (little wet/rainy too).

Any baseball fan and a runner, or wanting to do a couch to 5k... this is your event! You come in from right field, right onto the field and it is a pretty cool feeling coming out of that tunnel.

Nice way to kick off some rust, get the legs and speed going and work out some race jitters ahead of the Pittsburgh Marathon that is the following month.

The course changed in 2018 due to construction and wasn't not the best for someone going after a PB, as their is a tight turn back up a hill towards the player's entrance of the stadium by the Maz statue... outside of that, the event, staff and atmosphere was amazing.

This is set on a beautiful repost facility at the Montage, which is also where we stayed... AWESOME and if you can afford it, w would highly recommend it. What a beautiful location and slice of the south, that gives you everything.

The race itself is throughout the report, so that it is very easily managed and minimal traffic on the road throughout the 10k, half and marathon and the elevation is flat, pancake flat.

My only gripe really with this was the start time being so late in the day. It was at 9am, with the sun and humidity out already it was a very tough day for me being from the north and winter, so my body was not really ready for that.

There was some free photos available afterwards you can get, but they do not take pictures of everyone, so that was a bit disappointing.

For the cost of entry, you do not get much, but I wasn't entering this race for added SWAG, just an excuse to get down to the south and enjoy the beauty of the Bluffton/Savannah/ SC region and I was able to do that.

So if you are looking to just get out and enjoy this for the beauty of the resort, region and have an attempt at a PB because of the flat service with little to no interruptions with the amount of runners entering the event then GO FOR IT and you won't be disappointed.

Just be prepared to run in the sun during the whole race, which for a person coming out of winter, was not the best of choices for me.

This race was a fun way to add some workouts into the middle of December, while also ringing in the holiday with some cheer. Easy to navigate, get to the start line, the festivities seemed to be fun and kid/family friendly and will be looking to do this again.

For Pittsburghers, it is the normal course in starting by Stage AE, heading down to Heinz Lofts and then coming back on the trail towards the Science Center to then head back to the finish line at Stage AE.

It is early… but with transportation and event coordination, it is super easy and effortless to get to the start line. If you want to get into your specific corral (ie I was in Corral A), this race is not intended for competition, but more a fun and enjoyable experience.

I mention this as I showed up about 15-20 minutes before corral was supposed to close and I was turned away, told it was at capacity and I was asked to go to the back… which I found out was actually back to corral D. I sifted through gates and did not make many friends, but I found they just allow ANYONE to the corral and the corral guards do not know any better and are just doing their job, but it was rather frustrating to be going off in the 2nd/3rd corral and after 5k int the race, I was all by myself and not able to run with the folks that were at the front that I was trying to pace with and compete with.

Ya live and ya learn…. because outside of that, it was a fun race, fun course and just awesome spectacle.

I mean, it is Disney World!
