Loved this race and city! Chicago has an easy public transportation system so was easy to get down to the expo with little additional walking. The morning of the event, it was so easy to get to your gate, drop you bag and go with the bathroom all within an hour of starting versus other races where you wait hours or all morning before you even run. The course itself is beautiful, flat and full of energy! Aid stops and support were wonderful!

The Fall 5o weekend is such a great experience! This year was my fourth year participating in the event and besides the wickedly cold conditions and wind it was probably one of my favorites. Logistically this was one of the best years in regards to getting to the check points in time to switch runners where in the past traffic had made it a challenge. The scenery is incredible and being in Door County is always a refreshing feeling. Dressing up in costume, running, and being around close friends all day is a win win for me! The post race party and dancing is always a highlight and a great way to celebrate the day. I highly recommend this race to anyone but registration fills quick so be ready when it opens online!

2018 was a very challenging year due to the conditions but an unforgettable one. Not only was it challenging to run in from a race management side it looked hard to control as people just did whatever they wanted anyways to stay warm and survive. This was my second time running it I also ran it in 2016. In 2016 it was hot and I performed terribly so wanted to do it again and prove to myself I could run it again and run it better. The course is not an easy one with the downhills all in the beginning and all the climbing in the end but having a better mental understanding of what was coming the second time around was a game changer. The crowd is phenomenal and the participant support is great as everyone cheers each other on. Having an aid station every mile is a game changer in a race when the conditions can be tough and is much appreciated. The final stretch to the finish line is such a rewarding experience and the energy is something I will never forget! I ran much better in 2018, which I am happy with, but maybe it was because I just wanted to get out of the rain :) The drop is crucial as well depending on the weather and highly recommend it if it is raining so you can change right away and get dry again!
