The Spooktacular Chase is an amazing race that benifits Vision Rehabilitation Services.

Starting out in historic downtown Powder springs the course travels along the streets for 3/4 of mile before hooking up with a paved trail that will lead to the Silver Comet trail. The scenery along the trail is great with the start of the fall color change over. There are a couple of aid stations along the Comet, one as you are entering the trail the other when you are exiting into the neighborhood streets. The last 3/4 of the course is a little bit of rolling hills ending with a final climb to the finishers shoot.
All finishers receive medals and there is some refreshments on hand post race. Even better though there is a brunch available post medal ceremony (1st place age group finishers get a bonus medal). The brunch had a great selection of food including some great quiches! Do Not skipping this brunch its included in your registration
Hope to see you out there next year

Yesterday was my first Peachtree Road Race and it was absolutely Amazing!

The Atlanta track club does an incredible job of orchestrating the largest 10k in the world.

Starting with the World Class expo, that had so much going on that I seriously contemplated going down for a second day. Plan to spend a minimum of an hour and half to interact and take it all the vendors longer if you are going to shop! Make sure you get your Breeze card

Race day begins with that Breeze card for your Marta trip to the start line, which by the way is a shockingly long walk from the station to the corrals. So please dont cut yourself short on time... its a good warm up just dont want to stress...

The corral system is extremely impressive. Runners are grouped with like time individuals through the 20+ Corrals using qualified race times. This made the race incredibly smooth. With everyone in your wave being similar in pace you dont have to expend energy bobbing and weaving! This was a HUGE plus! When I pictured 60,000 people I dreaded the hoard slow down, but that didn't happen!

The course was pleasant and well supported throughout by volunteers and spectators. Aid stations were plentiful and I absolutely loved the various "sprinklers" that I was able to run through and cool off! Radio stations blasting tunes, couple of local bands jamming made for great listening. All sort of handouts along the course from beer to donuts to fruit not to mention the various trinkets, just adding to the Fun!
Finishing in Piedmont park and collecting the coveted T-shirt was beautiful. The Cold Dasani water the Iced Towels #THANKYOU
The Track club had a litte after party on the Park Tavern grounds, serving Yeungling and SHADE! Well worth the price of admission 😉
Joing the track club gets you a guaranteed entry in to the Peachtree road race and of course the after party, Bonus

Look forward to next year

An absolute blast running the Braves 5k through the Battery and into SunTrust park. In typical Georgia fashion the area is comprised of rolling hills but nothing brutal!
The Atlanta track club did a great job with an excellent volunteer staff. Race movement was smooth, water was plentiful (Thanks G) post race snacks of Goldberg Bagels was 👍
Enjoyed hanging in the Battery after the race, had some delicious tacos courtesy of El Felix. Looking forward to the Braves game this afternoon and parading around the field a little slower then my sprint to the finish. Yes a Game ticket comes with race entry
Go Braves and ChopOn
