This was my second year doing the 10k/5k challenge for this race. Both my kids and I have enjoyed it so much we signed up for next year. Both courses have some brick. Pretty much a flat course. And as a nice change they have Nuun hydration on the course! The expo starts Friday night and Saturday during the race. It's at Lake Eola so parking can be a challenge but they typically give you directions to some of the lots nearby. Great organization and race. Fun post race party too!

I did all 3 races at the 2018 Princess weekend. It was my first Princess and this race is definitely geared more towards females, but there are guys running it. The 5K runs in Epcot. The 10K starts in the Epcot parking lot, runs around it and into cast areas of Epcot, out around the lands and exits to go around Boardwalk, Yacht, and Beach clubs before coming back into Epcot to finish. Be careful if the boardwalk is wet as it can be slippery. The Half starts at Epcot, runs to Magic Kingdom, in Magic Kingdom, then out and back to Epcot. The road back is very congested and in direct sun so it can get hot. It is the same route used during Marathon weekend. Many of the roads also have slants to them. Some on/off ramps and bridges for inclines. Overall a fun weekend. I did the 5K and 10K with my girls and we had a blast. The half I did with a friend.

This was my first Dopey and I did the no longer available Runner's World VIP. They took great care of us pre and post race. It was some of the coldest weather of the year for 3/4 races this year so I was so happy I had race retreat. The 5K was all in EPCOT. The 10K was around EPCOT and the Boardwalk. The Half started at EPCOT and went to Magic Kingdom. If you got there early enough the lights were still on the castle. The full does all 4 parks plus World of Sports. You are in there for about 3 miles and there is a timing chip back there. One thing to note is the roads are slanted which can take a toll. Only elevation is entrance and exit ramps. Otherwise pretty flat. Best part was characters on the course! Enjoy it and don't worry about time. Just be aware of where the balloon ladies are as if they pass you there is a danger of being swept.

This is the one Disney 5K that is in Animal Kingdom. We were the first group to get to run through Pandora and see it in the dark was amazing. Be aware there are some hills in Animal Kingdom that you might not notice as you walk the park but you do when running. Overall the 5K was fun. The 10K follow the same path as the Dark Side. You start in Magic Kingdom parking lot, run on the road to Hollywood Studios, then the path in front of Boardwalk to end in the Epcot parking lot. You only go through 2 countries in Epcot. There is one slanted and curved on ramp that a Green Army man is usually near the top yelling at you to keep moving. This was our first Disney race and we loved it. The Expo has so many fun vendors as well.

We did this as a family to start Thanksgiving. We only walked it. There is a lot of uneven brick on this course so be aware of that. As it was a holiday many of the lots downtown were closed so plan ahead for parking. This race is not timed and no medal. But overall a fun way to spend time with family and help a great cause.
