This was my first year running the Blarney & Stone 15K. The terrain was mostly hiking trails which, for me, are difficult to navigate as I like to take it slow on trails to prevent injury. The race had plenty of ample parking and indoor restrooms at the start/finish. Race entry included a breakfast ticket for eggs and pancakes. Out of 15K there were only 2 water stations, which could have had more. Overall, the run was run and challenging.

The Dirty Bird 15K takes place at French Creek State Park near Birdsboro, PA and also offers a 30K and 50K option. Registration for the 15K/30K was $34; 50K was $50 and both included a long-sleeve tech shirt.

The 9am start time is perfect for people traveling an hour or more. The race start area was easy to find with the provided GPS address.

The route was the toughest 15K I’ve ever seen. Hats off to those who completed the 30K or 50K

The inaugural Run the Raven 7K took place in Shenandoah, PA. The registration was $15 ($17.50 with online registration).

Race information listed William Penn Fire Company as the starting location, however, the actual start was a few miles up a mountain side road.

The race was relatively flat with lots of curves perfect for practicing tangent running. At the end of the race, everyone made it back to William Penn Fire Company for free beer, hot dogs and awards.

I ran this race in 2016, the route was scenic and the hoodies were great. I did not expect an actual hoodie for the price of the run. Some of the trails had ice on them which made them crowded for slower runners trying to PR. There were a few hills, the trails were scenic along a river. Overall, the scenery was nice and the run was enjoyable.
