This was my first Ultra. The race director cares deeply about the Sport of Running and sharing this love with others. Swag was great. Got 2 stickers for the car,a Nalgene water bottle and a race tech shirt. Race day was awesome. They took pictures of all the first timers and sent us on our way. Each aid station was nicely stocked with food and beverage and outstanding volunteers. Some of the nicest people I ever met at a race were here! Finish line had a little sign for new ultra runners. It was really special! Also got to sign the finish line, and the horseshoe medal was great!

This was my first time participating in this race and it is likely to be my last. The medal was absolutely beautiful and that was my favorite part. The course for the half wasn't anything to get excited about. I did not find it overly scenic or anything to write home about. Race morning was a bit of a disaster with the weather, which caused the race director to repeatedly delay the start. I had my hydration and nutrition dialed in and the shift in start time didn't negatively affect me, it did others. I did feel like they could have done a much better job communicating the delay to the masses, as it was extremely confusing to have any idea what was going on that morning. Overall not a terrible experience but not my favorite.

Easy to access expo, fantastic communication from race director, great course, wonderful aid stations, epic after party! The weather is amazing for this fall race. Yes, you have some hills, but if you train on hills once a week or so, you'll master this in Cherokee Park. The start line is easy to access and the finish line party is amazing! It's a treat to be able to celebrate in a 21 or older event!! The wonderful array of Bourbons and food was a nice finish to a good race. The medals are great and they're definitely one of a kind and represent Louisville well! Never felt alone on the course and absolutely loved the fall colors in Cherokee Park! Such a treat to run this race!
