They have an option to run the 2k, 5k, 10k all on Saturday afternoon and evening and then the full the next day - it's called the Lumberjack and the swag is great but it's a really cool challange. The course is really interesting too - you go through a lot of different areas and into Quebec for a bit.

Running between countries is amazing. The course is flat and goes through really diverse areas of the Detroit and Windsor, ON, Canada. The shirts, medals, set up and expo are all top notch. In 2017, you can't blame the race organizers but the humidity, heat, and wind this year were KILLER... especially on Belle Isle which is around the 21 mile mark and is in completely exposed to the wind on good years.

So I'm from Canada, and was visiting NYC. The ferry ride alone was worth it - free trip with great views. There was no expo to speak of before the race but that's because NYRR is a machine at putting events on. Their headquarters for kit pick up before hand was great and they were really great people to chat with. The course is deceiving because it looks like an out-n-back but the back takes a turn off the main road and it gets hillier back there than the out part. A fair course but with the last KM uphill-ish it's probably not the easiest to PB (especially when you're fresh from the Islanders hockey game the night before!)

This particular day also featured some pounding rain which didn't help! Afterwards you get to hang out in a minor league baseball stadium which is really nice too.

I'd love to run more of the NYRR races - really well put together.
