I have ran either the half or the full marathon every year 2013 - 2017.

Arriving in a timely manner I have always found plenty of parking. The buses to the start run on time and move runners efficiently to the starting line. The starting line is very scenic as you can start to see the sun rise over the desert and the Saguaro Cacti. Unfortunately the amount of time spent out of town in the desert is somewhat brief and most of the course goes through residential and commercial suburbs. This isn't especially bad or unpleasant, but isn't as nice as those first few miles out in the desert. At the finish the marathon and half marathon runners finish in separate chutes and end up in the same finisher area. The finisher area and food options are great in my opinion. You have offerings from Kneaders Bakery (french toast with caramel syrup), Famous Dave's (BBQ), Sprouts grocery store (snack bars), Ice cream, fruit cups, muscle milk and I'm sure I"m forgetting some additional snacks. If you are willing to wait in line you can get a message. Lastly the drop bag pickup runs rather efficiently. The only thing I can really complain about is that with traffic and parking it can take a bit of time to get out of the area. Overall a great well run race. I keep the half or full marathon on my race calendar every year.
