This was my 2nd time running Grandmas Marathon. Grandmas is extremely well organized and is offers runners many unique experiences. The expo is well organized at the Decc building, and they offer a nice spaghetti meal for $12.00 on Friday. The offer many busing options for runners to take free of charge depending where you stay. You can bring a camper to the Decc Building and stay for $60.00 per day-first come first serve, or stay in the dormitory for around $90.00 for the weekend. The run starts at Two Harbors and ends in Canal Park-Downtown Duluth. The run is absolutely beautiful and there is a small hill around mile 22. The people of Duluth are very friendly and there is usually a huge cheering crowd when you arrive in town.

The Scheels Half Marathon was a great race to run for my training for Grandmas Marathon in June. The race starts at the Mankato Scheels store, and takes you around Mankato's Raintree Road. The race also runs around hilltop Mankato and through the trails, and ends with a slight hill back up to Mankato Scheels.

I have participated in the Mankato Marathon for the past 5 years. The Half Marathon begins at MSU and travels on the Red Jacket Trail past the Mankato YMCA and into Sibley Park. While in Sibley Park there is a slight hill traveling along the river, the race ends in downtown Mankato. There is plenty of free busing from downtown Mankato to the start line. The expo is well ran with many great speakers.
