The Houston Marathon was a blast! Despite the heat and humidity this was an amazing race day! I also walked away with a 14 minute PR! The expo was the best! Very well organized and tons of vendors. The convention center is easy to get in and out of for both the expo and as a staging area for the start and finish of the race. I stayed at a hotel within walking distance to the convention center and the start line. The bag check was a little chaotic and almost made me miss my corral closing!
The race course is definitely a PR or BQ course! Crowd and spectator support was amazing! Great job Houston!

This was the race of all races for me! My first major marathon. From start to finish everything was amazing. The expo was huge! There were some long lines but of course this is a huge race and the longs went quickly and easy! Packet pickup was so exciting! The people working the packet pickup were so encouraging and pumped you up. I took the ferry, then the bus to the start line. All went very smooth and this small town Texas girl made it through New York City with ease! I can't even describe the race in words! I was in awe for 26.2 miles. The crowd just carried you through the entire thing. I can't wait to go back!
