I ran the Half marathon distance of this race and it did not disappoint. The scenery is beautiful, the course is well marked and the beer line was short. What more can you ask for. The course ran under two waterfalls and had one pretty good hill at the end. I typically do not run trials however, after this race I might just start.

The course is fast and flat with beautiful scenery. They start the race in waves so congestion is not a problem . Aid stations are plentiful and full of energy . You can tell the community is behind this event. Some of the aid stations are in front if people's homes and porta ports in their drive ways . Even in a storm they are out cheering on runners . The medals are nice and glow in the dark . I would recommend this race to anyone.

Race Management

I have ran this race three years and the swag is hard to beat. The course is nice and I love that all the neighbors come out to cheer you on. This year was a different experience. The course was not properly marked and over half the participants ran an extra half mile. The race directors attitude towards his error was appalling. He claims it was only a few. As if a few rogue runners wanted to run extra. He also said "Maybe we ran off course for fun" . He further insulted the running community by stating nobody in the 4 hours or more group would qualify for Boston anyhow so it " Is no big deal". So to sum things up unless you run under four hours don't expect an accurate course, course safety, or an accurate result because you are not a big deal or important to this race. If an RD has that kind of attitude you are better off to run a race that encourages and celebrates all abilities. Unless of course you are fast, but don't be the winner because they missed the first place male. You guessed it "Not a big deal". If you are looking for an Oregon marathon try Newport or Eugene. I only gave the race management 1 star because it made me.
