This event was great! Super challenging because of the elevation, but man were the views fabulous. The start line is a little tricky to find, but if you look at the map ahead of time, it's a breeze. For the event you run along the highway, which can put some runners off. Personally, it's not the best option, given the area, but don't let that stop you! You quickly forget where you are and just enjoy the mountains and views around you!

When we arrived at packet pick up the day before the race, we were told our shirts weren't there just yet, and would be available race morning. No biggie for me as I had brought my own gear to run in, but I heard some people at the finish line complaining about it. The over look and feel of the shirt was good and the medal was a great 4th idea. But they don't really seem to go together well (green shirt with red/white/blue medal), but that's my taste.

The Finish Line area had a lot of great energy and the Emcee was fun! My biggest complaint at the end was the timing. I don't know if they do it in house or not, but it could use improvement. A friend of mine had to write in to get their time adjusted - but it was handled FAST especially given it was a holiday weekend!

Overall, LOVE this location and the race. Would definitely come back next year - I could easily see this becoming my 4th of July tradition!
