A technically tough course, hills and heavily rooted, stone filled trails. This was the inaugural year. The race had a small close-knit feel. The running community was great here! The course consisted of a two-loop course of just over 6.5 miles. My first trail half, showed me just how tough an entirely trail race can be! It was a cold 34 degrees for the race and the mud slicked hills made for tough climbs! This was a great race that really made you dig deep!!

The half marathon was a challenging distance. The majority of the race was on open country roads, surrounded by farm fields. The large wooden bridge that you crossed twice (at beginning and then again at end) was very beautiful architecturally. The weather was not optimal, it was 52 and raining for the majority of the race. The wind and rain added a natural challenge to this already tough race distance. This was a great race and very well organized!

This race makes warrior dash look easy. 4 miles of 72 military obstacles. Mud bogs, log carries, rope climbs, log hurdles, fallen trees over rivers you have to cross, monkey bars. What an amazing experience, running side by side active military! It was a very tough race, but felt so rewarding to go through such a struggle with those who serve our country running beside you!! LOVED the challenge of this race!!!

The Middle-O-Mit 10K was a kick off race that took place the night before the multisport weekend started. It was later in the day on a Friday, so the heat had abated. The hilly road course made for a series of intense hill climbs throughout the race. I finished 3rd overall, which felt great because the competition was strong. A great race full of hills that my legs felt the next day!

The Celtic Knot was a combination challenge of the 5K & 10K races. Runners finished the 10K, then had an hour before the 5K started (depending on your finishing time). Really enjoyed this race, despite the cold and crowd. The expo the day beforehand was fantastic and the medals were awesome looking! I'll be making this a staple of my race calendar every year!
