I've run this race along side a group of soldiers with rucksacks & a group of ladies to raise money for wounded soldiers. Last year I ran the last 15 miles of the 26.2 with them. Always am honor, always great scenery, always love the high school band around mile 17 that chants and plays. They always have loads of aid stations & som e are so festive. Awesome finish line presence & they even have the kiddos who've completed their miles finish ther last one. So they've run their own 26.2 miles. Great race with a great message.

I actually trained for this race but then ended up walking with a friend. This was a very hot/humid day. I wish I had brought more hydration and maybe electrolytes. We walked for almost four hours. The views were absolutely beautiful but no shade at all made it so difficult. Also when we finished everyone was pretty much gone. After the turn around I don't think we say anyone until we got to the finish line. Wish there would have been more support on the course.

It's been a while since I've done this race but I remember it being beautiful & the on lookers being one of a kind. They offered drinks (adult beverages) during the race. There were even groups having block parties along the race course which provided great entertainment. It reminded so much of Mardi Gras without the crowds of people. Loved hearing my name as I crossed the finish line even though I was is considered the back of the pack. I did well fo me finishing in 1hr 19mins when I expected to finish In 1hr thirty mins. Overall great race and expo. Would definitely run it again and recommend to others.
