I have run the half or full at this race each year since it started and it continues to be my favorite race each year. All proceeds from the race benefit charities (one local and one based in B/CS that rescues children in Ghana from slavery) and the final few hundred yards of the course contain large images of the faces of children who have been rescued since the race began. Race medals are generally presented by young people from one of the local charities. Communication from the race director is excellent and the race is extremely runner focused. The flat course winds through residential areas in Bryan and College Station, as well as through large portions of Texas A&M University. The start and finish are located adjacent to the area's main shopping mall, allowing for plentiful free parking. Post-race food is great with a wide variety of local favorites. SWAG changes each year, but always contains an extra surprise gift, along with a t-shirt and tech shirt for finishers.
