I do not even know where to start with this race! The expo was great. The building they had it in was beautiful! I laid everything out the night before the race and knew that they were calling for pouring rain from 2am through to the next afternoon. LOTS OF RAIN! I woke middle of the night to hear the downpour and was restless thereon. I met two girls in the hotel lobby to go to the subway with so our spouses did not have to wait in the rain - they would come to finish later. We had garbage bags over us leaving the hotel. Our feet were already soaked when getting to the subway. The subway was packed but moved well as they had plenty extra on. Once we got off the subway I was surprised how far the start was to get to. We stopped at washrooms along the way as lineups looked bad upahead. We got the start line and it was chaos. No wave starts - people lined up wherever they felt. Not sure if this was usual or because of the weather. The race started and I felt like I was running around obstacles of people for the first 2 miles. The pack then separated a little. There were more hills in this route than I expected - so be sure to train for hills! I trained for it and was glad I did! The rain pretty much poured until i was at mile 18. The wind and rain were warm - not cold - but the wind blew sideways so was harder to keep breathing properly. Once the rain stopped it was FULL ON sun! Hot! A lot of scenic areas - which was very nice! I did not finish strong. I think I left all I had in the first 18 miles! But I finished and that was what I set out to do! Not sure if I will be back to this race.

We got to the parking lot about 3am. It was SOOOOOO cold!! I did not expect this for Florida - I expected it to be chilly in the early hours but the wind was COLD!! I brought a throw away shirt that I never thew away as I could not part with it! By the time I ended my fingers were numb - I could not wait for the other girls at the finish - I text to say meet you in the vehicle!! Too cold! But it was a short race so I enjoyed it nonetheless! I did not know the 5k was untimed - not that that matters - but to some it would. Parking is the whole Epcot parking lot - so plenty of room! Expo amazing as always! And of course the medals too!!

I ran the 5k the Friday prior to the marathon with some friends, and nearly froze! After the race I shopped around looking for throw away gloves - I had a sweater but wanted something for my hands - of course could not find any - so bought long socks! Woke up the morning of the race and it was so muggy already!! Didn't need the socks for my hands! The race was great, the temps were warm! The crowds fantastic! I hit the wall between the heat and gravel/sidewalks of ESPN at about mile 18 - earlier than usual. I struggled from there to the finish - but I finished and was proud! Not a PR but best I could do for that race. I left it all out there! I will be back to do this race!! I love Disney!!

This is always my fav race! First class overall in every aspect! The organization is beyond comparable! The crowds, even in the pouring rain, were amazing! Wall to wall most of the route. I cannot get enough of this race! I will be back!! Plenty of hotels within walking distance of the start/finish line. I always found it safe walking in to the start as there is runners all heading in the same direction. The starts are set up great. The waves are spaced so well. And of course the medals never disappoint!!

Ran this with a pulled Achilles - not the smartest. I almost quit at mile 5 and wanted to cry of disappointment and walk the rest of the way as my leg was throbbing. I thought I’ll make it to mile 6 and decide. I pushed and pushed. I knew I had people cheering me on; my husband and kids surprised me at mile 11, and I pushed to cross that finish line!! So many hills in this race - so I expected it. Light rain in the morning kept the heat down. Nice to run close to home!
