This year (2015) was my first year to run the St. Jude Marathon. This marked my 5th life time marathon and my 2nd marathon within 13 days. The expo was very well organized and included a lot of booths with great information and gear for purchase. The race shirts were awesome, great material. The race shirts matched the color of the finishers medal. Example, the marathon race shirt was a burgundy color and so was the medal. The 5k race shirt was orange and the medal was orange too. There was so much crowd support along the 26.2 miles that I traveled that there was never a quiet moment. The amount of people cheering, bands playing, cheerleaders cheering, people dressed up as funny characters, first responders, etc. was an incredible feeling. We ran through the campus of St. Jude, the amount of kids (kids who were well enough to be outside) cheering us on was very emotional and motivating...I had no reason to feel tired or complain about any of my pains. The scenery was beautiful. The police did a great job blocking all streets, not only main streets but every street. Finishing inside the baseball complex was exciting. The post race food/drinks were delicious. I will definitely be running this race again next year!
