Let me start by saying this race had blitz registration and I only paid $1 for my entry.
The race runs across the Crescent City Connection bridge starting the first 2 miles of the race. After that it's all down hill and this race took that literally. The aid stations were nicely manned and the volunteers were very nice. After the bridge the course ran through some less than stellar (to put it nicely) parts of the city. It was an out and back for a large section so there was very little to look at. Police officers manned each intersection as we ran out but on the way back we noticed that the officers had left all but the busiest intersections leaving us to fend for ourselves on the "closed" course (we believe they were leaving as the last person and sag wagon passed on the opposite side). This resulted in my running buddy almost getting ran over by a car that didn't seem to care that there were several dozen runners in the road. Aid stations that had inflatable arches were pulling down the arches as we passed even though there were at least a hundred runners behind us. As we were nearing the finish and saw people who had already finished we noticed that no one was wearing a medal. After we finished we saw the posting on Facebook about a delivery error that meant our medals won't even be mailed to us for another week to 10 days. This was definitely a one and done race that wasn't worth the $1 I paid. I'd rather keep my money and run on my own. #HF9350

Jazz half is one of my favorite races. The weather can be tricky this time of year. Sometimes it's hot like this year (75 and humid), sometimes it's freezing like last year (37 and windy). Running up and down St Charles and around the park is too beautiful to pass up no matter what the weather. There is great course support with lots of people cheering. HF#9350

I registered for Rnr nola because it was part of a double down challenge. After hearing negative reviews of many RNR races I expected it to be a one and done. I was wrong. I loved every minute of it. The bands on the course were fun and I had a great time running through a city I don't usually get to run in. I signed up for next year's race as soon as I got home. HF#9350

LA marathon and half is a great course (entire neighborhoods come out to cheer you along the course) but the best part is the after party. Great music and one of the only races I've done that had a vegan village with post race food. More runners are going plant based and this race welcomes them with open arms. HF#9350
