1. registration -- online before the race or race day registration at the site --- no Expo --- this is a small run about 50 half marathoners -- there is also a 5K -- access to the site is easy and parking is close to the start/finish line --- everyone is friendly and helpful -- chip timing
2. course -- is in Fort Chaffee east of Fort Smith, AR -- there are rolling hills with some fairly steep -- on an out and back course. This is a long lonely course -- the only cheering is from the people at the water stations, the bicyclers and other runners/walkers that pass by doing their thing. this year 2016 the wind was a factor -- very strong both out and back -- never behind your always against you --

Overall I think this is a good run -- it will test you -- without being overly tough -- small friendly run -- being a small run you might place in your age group -- plenty of water stations and course direction

I usually dont like RNR races but this is one that I rec. the expo is better than other RNR expos -- the course is great / flat / people along the course are great -- this year was hot/humid and water stations had problems but the residents came to the rescue with water hoses and pitchers of water for the runners -- and Savannah is a very interesting town with a great history --

this is a great novelty race. you get to run into canada and back -- you DO need a passport so go ahead and apply now to get that out of the way and have on hand --- the expo is OK -- Be sure to have your race number clearly visible or the border patrol will stop you -- I saw a couple of girls with their jackets zipped up over their numbers get stopped and asked to show their numbers -- I understand one person without a number was arrested trying to run over the bridge with the crowd -- be sure to carry your passport with you on the run -- crowd support was great --- course was basically flat except for the bridge -- well managed --- the finish line refreshments were not much but there was a post race party a few blocks from the finish with more refreshments --- you need to do this at least once just for the novelty of running to canada
