This was my second year running this race, I love it! It is more low key in the ways that the packet pick up is the day of, (but very efficient) and the t shirt is cotton. However, you cant beat the price of any of their races AND they offer a series sign up. This 5k costs $15 dollars and you walk away with a t shirt, and a pumpkin and if you wish you can enter your dog into the costume contest that is after the awards, well organized from start to finish!

With that said it does take place on base so you will have to show government ID to access the race (this is the only part where you may run into a line) and it is fast - the runners here are no joke with the pace!

Each race in their series is a different route making sure you never get bored and is always changing, for this race it is quite pretty as the trees are changing at time you may feel you encountered some rolling hills but for the most part it is flat and fast.

You will def not regret running this or any of their races!

"Ragnar - not just a running experience! "

FIrst let me start off by saying that I went into this not really knowing anything about a Ragnar except that we had to run really far over two days living in a van :)
The thing that stuck out to me the most was when you had stop over places I think there could have been more food options or support even - i did expect the typical tables spread out with food and drink and there was non..... even some free bananas there wasnt anything free to refuel with until the next morning in Bethesda. Not that big of deal bc you are in a van so can bring your own but it is a lot of money and I do think there could be some more runner support - the swag was a t shirt and medal.

I think the race is a great "experience" one and I can see the allure of wanting to do more - HELLO they just added Maui in the mix. Be careful of your van mates though over 24 hours in a van is a long TIME!! I know some ppl rented hotels in such we slept in the van except for one of the sleeping spots was at a creamery - great idea right? Well, I guess they didnt factor in the cows and thus the strong smell of cow patties, all night long.
