This course was described as having rolling hills and it did not disappoint! The views and feel of the run was very small town and friendly. The half marathon does not accommodate walkers due to the 3 hour 15 minute finish time limit.
The very small finish area did not have much action and there was no food or drink vendors. Most people cleared out as soon as they were done running people left. This leads to my only large complaint; parking was a pain and you parked far away and took a shuttle in. The shuttle service was easy and fast when arriving. However I waited over 30 minutes for a shuttle when it was time to leave.
This was only the 2nd year for this event and I see good things coming! The organizers seem very open to comments!

This was my 1st half marathon and it was a wonderful first experience! The event expo was easy to attend and very family friendly. The course is well marked. The only downside for the half marathon is that a large part of the course is an out and back that reconnects with the 5 and 10k runners. It became monotonous. I will be running this race again!

I hate that I am writing a bad review for this event. This was my 3rd year running the Survivor Mud Run and unfortunately everything from the difficulty of the course to the lack of customer service has gone downhill. There is little variation to the obstacles. There is plenty of mud and if you run in earlier waves water at aid stations plentiful. As is typical at many obstacle style runs there are many non-competitive runners/walkers on the course. Which becomes an issue when traffic backs up at obstacles. This event did away with their 'free' shirt for signing up in 2014 and instead offered a too-tight sweatband. Every year there has been issues with the timing company they use. This year was no different. I will not be running this once fun event again.
