Registration: Easy online registration, cheap price for a race. I signed up for the whole series (3 races) for $90. There was on-site day-of race registration.

Expo: Packet/shirt pickup at the park where the start line was the day before the race. Also had the option of going to the store the day before to pick up. About 10 vendors there outdoors. The only bad part was the bugs! Luckily someone had bug spray. But there were 3 massage vendors so lots of post race recovery!

Photos: Free by 904fitness and posted the same day online. Had to go through all of them to find/tag but it was nice that they were free.

Course: Pancake flat with a little baby hill. Out and back from the Nocatee town center to the paved trail. Really pretty!

Aid stations: 2 on course all with water. Seemed a little chaotic but no major bottlenecking.

Medal/swag: Loved the medal! The shirt was a tank top which was AWESOME (not too many races do tanks). Although it was cotton.

Food: They had Dick's Wings with wings and salad. Also bananas and bagels. Jax Sports Nutrition was there with BCAAs.

Parking: Plenty of paved parking at the Nocatee town center.

Pretty competitive race. Although I don't think it's fair they let their employees podium.

Super fun race by Jacksonville Running Company. Can't wait for their next one!!

Registration: Easy online registration. $25 before day of race and $35 day of race. All proceeds to benefit the Tourette's foundation so it was for a good cause.

Expo: I did day of race packet pickup. No-frills, no line. It was nice.

Photos: Free and on Facebook the same day. Had to look through all of them to find yours.

Course: Out and back, super flat through Nocatee. It was HOT out so a flat course was nice.

Aid stations: There was just 1 but since it was out and back it was like having 2. Just some cups of water on the table. There was a girl there but she wasn't handing out the cups so it caused some slowdown.

Medal/swag: I signed up for this race just for the medal. It says life's a twitch which is awesome. Also got a t-shirt. Nothing fancy but it'll be a good sleeping shirt.

Food: Maple street biscuit company was there which was SO DELICIOUS. Biscuits and bacon were awesome.

I love small races. I ended up winning my age group. Most everyone placed because it was that small.

Registration: Online registration or day of race. I registered online and early and with the registration fees it was $77 which is OUTRAGEOUS for a 5K. Next year the price has increased to $88, plus the online registration fees. It's hard to justify paying almost $30 per mile.

Expo: Not sure why packet pickup was only on Wednesday and Thursday when the race was a Saturday. Also packet pickup was at the Baymeadows location only which doesn't make sense for a beach race.

Photos: Pretty cool that you could sign up with Facebook to have photos automatically posted to your wall when they are uploaded. Free photos! Lots of photographers too.

Course: Out and back on Jax beach. Low tide was nice but being in the summer it's still super hot out.

Aid stations: 1 aid station but since it was out and back it was like having 2. It was out of the way and you had to veer off the packed sand and on to the soft sand to get to it. Not a lot of volunteers at it so you had to wait for your water.

Medal/swag: Probably the best part about this race (this was my 7th year doing it) is you get a necklace or watch instead of a medal. I've collected almost all the necklaces and I love them. But it's why the price is insane so you have to decide if it's really worth it. The shirts were a huge let down this year. They were plain and said never quit. In years past we've been able to choose different designs/colors and they were technical shirts or tanks. This year we also got a finisher's shirt but people were snagging them before the race so if you truly waited to finish like you were supposed to they were all out.

Food: Free kind bars and some samples from vendors. Tropical smoothie and Rita's were there but you had to pay for them. And who carries cash while they run?

I have a love/hate relationship with this run. I HATE paying that much to run but I love the nexcklaces so I do it anyway. I gave race management 1 star because after 7 years everything should be organized but it never is. The race has always been advertised as a charity for stroke awareness but the RD refuses to disclose where the profit goes or how much if any actually goes for this. The race is NEVER organized. It started 25 minutes late this year, which makes a difference in the Florida summer heat. Every year I say I'm never doing this again but who knows when I'll actually mean it. I don't want to not recommend it but try it once for yourself and then decide.

Registration: Easy online registration, $55 for a half with isn't too bad. I was able to Google and find a coupon for $5 which was a nice little bonus. There was no day-of race registration.

Expo: Packet/shirt pickup at the park where the start line was the day before the race. No frills, no lines.

Photos: Free and posted the same day to Facebook. Had to go through all of them to find/tag but it was nice that they were free.

Course: 1 way from Osteen to Debary on pancake flat paved trails. All but 3 miles was shaded which was awesome which was nice because it was a scorching Florida summer day, even at 6:30 AM.

Aid stations: 12 on course all with water and Gatorade. Some had gel, frozen pickle juice, candy, and/or pretzels which was nice.

Medal/swag: Loved the medal! The shirt was a nice tech shirt, although it was banana yellow.

Food: They had amazing BBQ and free beer which was so refreshing! The lines weren't terrible either.

Probably my favorite part was crossing the finish line and they handed you a washcloth soaked in ice water. It was the most refreshing, amazing thing ever.

Parking got 3 stars because there was a shuttle to take you from the finish back to the start line. However there was a 30 minute wait and the buses were packed full of sweaty runners with no air conditioning.

Race Management

Registration: Easy online registration. $25 day of race.

Expo: Not a true expo, just a bib/t shirt pickup. I picked mine up the morning of the race and it was pretty easy. I didn't get a shirt because I didn't want to walk all the way back to the car to put it away and I forgot to pick it up after the race.

Photos: By speedy banana, not free. Several photographers on the course so lots of pics which is nice for a 5K.

Course: Super flat which was nice because it was a sauna outside - SO HOT AND HUMID!

Aid stations: Nothing special, just water. And cheering volunteers!

Medal/swag: Nice medal for a 5K. Again I didn't get a shirt but they looked pretty nice.

Food: Mini muffins and bananas.

It was a pretty fun little run overall. The overall field was either mega fast or walkers with not a lot of in-betweeners. I'd do it again for sure.
