You can either run the half marathon or the 5K. I registered a bit late so I was unable to receive a shirt. It is a small local race so there is no expo and not many vendors have tents on RaceDay. The trail is a limestone trail that is flat. It's a great course to go for a PR. They have aid stations every 2 miles and you can take water or gatorade. I was disappointed because I thoguht I read there would be Gu at the turn around, but there was none. If you have to go to the bathroom on the course you are out of luck. I think I may have saw one 1 or 2. There aren't any sensors on the course to make sure no one is cheating, also means you don't get to see your split. The medals are small basic medals. Nothing special, but at least you get one. Overall this race is good if you want to go for time. If you are a person that looks for the swag and the shiny bling this isn't for you, but what do you expect when the entry fee is cheap.

I was scheduled to run the 8 mile race but had to drop down to the 5K. The course is a fairly course with all distances running together. The 30K runners start 5 minutes ahead to get some room. After doing a 5k you do loops around the 5 mile lake depending on your distance.
One reason I love this race is because instead of the normal swag(shirt) you receive a pair of running shorts and socks. Medals are given to the finishers of the half marathon and 30K distance as well.
The only problem I saw with the race was the finish. There are 2 chutes you go through, one to finish and one to continue with laps on the lake. Some people weren't sure what chute to go through when they were finished and there was no sign or a Marshall to direct people after the 5K runners finished.
This is a fairly cheap race with awesome swag and a easy course. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a race before a spring marathon or half

The course is very flat with minimal hills. Besides the 5k and 5 miler you can run both and get a beer mug along with your swag. It is a very crowded race but they do a good job of controlling the people. The competition is always good and a lot of good local runners come out for it
