There's an after party at the 27th mile. It's like Woodstock without the drugs! Lots of beer, live band and dancing.

I found that at least this years shirts was very plain. Hopefully they'll improve this for upcoming.

This was my 3rd Chicago marathon in a row! I LOVE it because the whole city caters to the marathoners all weekend long! The course is phenomenal. Slight elevation while going over bridges, but otherwise flat. The volunteers (route marshaling or aid stations) give their heart and soul into making sure you have a great race. There I no one section along the course that is dull. There are literally millions of spectators cheering you on. The L-Loop trains give easy access to different areas of the race to cheer on friends and family. A must do.....even if it's to cross off on your bucket list. Oh, and it's one of the marathon majors!!! #OWNCHICAGO
