Honolulu Marathon

Honolulu, HI

I mean—do we really have to elaborate on this one? The location speaks for itself, but if you need more convincing, a race-cation to Hawaii will keep you motivated during weeks of tough training. The Honolulu Marathon is one of the largest Marathons in the US with over 20,000 participants, and it’s also one of the most international US races with almost half of the runners coming from Japan. That field size and diversity makes race day a truly unique and beautiful experience.

With a 5 am start, the race kicks off before sunrise with a mind-blowing fireworks display. Believe us, it’s YUGE. The course takes runners through several local neighborhoods, up/over/around Diamond Head State Monument (score one for running around a volcano!), and ends at a finish-line festival across the street from Waikiki Beach. Another standout: volunteers greet finishers with fresh, warm malasadas (delicious, sugar-sprinkled doughnuts)—the perfect treat to celebrate a Marathon finish!
