*review warning-first race* This was my FIRST half marathon and I thought it was excellent. The Ventura Marathon had a pretty easy BIB pick-up and gear grab, a well marked course start, and easy parking. As far as the run, it was super flat like they said. I know I ran faster than I ever have and I feel like the course made it easy to do so. The course was easy to follow without any confusion. There were lots of volunteers at the aid stations which made it easy to grab stuff. Also a ton of supporters along the route. Ventura had a very supportive crowd. The finish line was loaded with tons of great snacks that all the runners needed (and were grubbing on). For my first race, I was overwhelmed with all the positives of the Ventura Marathon.
