Daniel 's thoughts:

Race takes place in early July so it is definitely on the warm side even in the morning. The race is put on by Run Project (Run Local Give Local) and also includes a 15K race so there is a pretty good crowd.

The race takes place at Norbuck Park and White Rock lake so the scenery is good the entire race. The only thing to consider when going to the race is if you are on the late side getting there you will be parking quite a distance away and closer to Flag Pole Hill on the side of the road that goes through the park.

SWAG included a tank t-shirt, a Run Project temporary tattoo and a hat with mesh on top and the inside is a sweat band, very nice for hot humid Dallas.

Course was flat and easy. Going across the bridge was kind of weird since it bounced a bit with runners so occasionally the bridge would be an inch or two high or low which made you fell like you were loosing your footing a bit.

At the end of the race you are awarded a big Too Hot to Handle medal, a cold cloth too cool off with, water and snacks to re-energize.

Expo also included a beer garden, but I had to wait quite a while for it too open since they were waiting for the 15k racers to finish. Local brewer Lakewood Brewing offered the free beer. Good stuff as I was able to enjoy some since my 13 year old daughter did not attend this race.

Nice race, good event overall and got a PR even if it was 8th place in my age group.
