The Color Run Philly is a family friendly 5K race for all running skill levels. If you are nervous about doing the 5K distance, I strongly recommend this race as must do. Participants in the Color Run normally wear creative outfits and white shirts to be ready for 5K of pure fun and party. It hardly feels like a race. This is not a chip timed event.

Warm Up:
The warm up area is held in front of huge stage with DJs playing music to get the crowd hyped. Think about a night club atmosphere, but in the morning, with everyone getting ready to have a fun run. There are multiple coaches that lead the crowd through pre-race stretches and calisthenics. The music and the coaches get the crowd pumped and ready.

Course:
The courses fairly flat. Due to the amount of participants, the race advisors will allow participants to start in waves in order to manage crowd control. The starting line begins in the parking lot at Citizens Bank Park. You make your way around part of the stadium, then into the stadium running through the lower level concourse. But as a bonus experience, you run down onto the field by home plate, up the third-base line, and exit in behind left field. What an amazing experience by it's self, but the race is not over. After you run out of the stadium you run through the first of 5 color stations. Participants get doused with various colors.
The race course continue around the Sport Complex area where every kilometer you will run through more color stations. The stations included some with bubbles or dust. When you get to the finish line, you will run through the last color station and receive your medal.

After Party:
There is a cool down station, various refreshments and water for participants. If you thought the music in the beginning of the day was fun, then hold your onto your seats for the after party. There is more music, dancing, and colors flying around which allow you for multiple picture opportunities. A lot of fun for all that attend.

By the way, take a look at your white shirt at the end of the day. Trust me, it will now be a one of kind Color Run experience shirt.

Tip:
Keep in mind you will get doused in color throughout the 5K distance. With that in mind, if you have any clothing or shoes you do not want damaged, please keep this in mind. The color is mostly from dust and it is washable, however, it may not come out of some clothing.
