- 3 miles/5K
- Road Race
This was not my favorite race, I will say that a lot of that stems from the fact that the very first color station blasted my right in my face and ear. This meant that I had to find a clean cloth from a police officer, to keep the color from going into my eyes/contacts.
So we will start with parking. This was a downtown Omaha event, which means parking is limited. It was $8 for parking at the event. I opted to park in free parking about a mile away, which wasn't a huge deal for me since I needed the miles for training, but would not have been convenient, if I had brought my daughter.
The race swag was great, I got a nice shirt, a great medal and at the end of the race, I got 2 things of Dr. Teals bath salts. The course was also fine for what it was, it isn't the prettiest parts of downtown, but it was also less than 3 miles. The worst part for me was how short the race was from an actual 5k. This bothered me, even though it wasn't a chipped race.
The organization could have been better, they didn't announce for people to line up and there was no organization to the starting process.
Needless to say this was the first and last time that I will run this race.
