See more of our race!

The Statesman Capitol 10,000 will celebrate the 41st running of the race on Sunday, April 8, 2018. The Cap10K is the largest 10K in Texas, the 7th largest in the nation and in 2017, had more than 21,300 registrants. The race begins on the Congress Avenue bridge in downtown Austin and the course passes iconic sites and ends on Vic Mathias Shores along Lady Bird Lake. Along the route, hear live music by local Austin bands. NEW for the 2018 race, will be finishers' medals, the first time in the race's history to celebrate a goal met.
The post-race Finish Line festival features live music, a beer and bloody mary garden, massage tent, food trucks and a Kids Zone, making the after-party a fun time for the whole family. The Cap10K is as Austin and local as it gets. See you April 8!

Gabrielle K's thoughts:

Unfortunately the 2019 race was cancelled one hour before the start, but I ran it in 2018 and it's a fantastic and quintessential Austin experience! The race is very well organized and the expo was great. I didn't love the 2018 shirts but the 2019 ones were amazing - I will still wear mine even though the race didn't happen! We were all very disappointed that the race was cancelled for lightning one hour before the start but the communication was prompt and responsible. Entry fees were not refunded but 2019 registrants will be offered a discount for 2020. I'll be back in 2020 for sure!
