The Rutgers Unite Half Marathon & 8K took place on Sunday April 14th 2019 at the Rutgers University campus in Brunswick, NJ.

The fairly small race expo was Saturday on the Rutgers Campus. Campus was busy and thriving with multiple events happening on Saturday. The expo was easy to find and parking was easy and free. Everyone working the expo was extremely friendly and helpful. Packet pickup was a breeze, easy and quick. I was able to find a deal on a new pair of Saucony sneakers.

The day of the race offered two parking choices, either the starting line or the finish line. I suggest parking at the starting line and being shuttled to your car after the race finish. The finish line parking option is a downtown area with street parking being by permit only or residential. The shuttles were quick and efficient.

I really enjoyed the half marathon course. There was one starting line for the half marathon and 8K, but the different distances started in different directions. The 13.1 did an 8 mile out and back around campus, then recrossed the starting line to continue to the final 5 miles to the finish.
The finish line ceremony was fun with plenty of food options, such as, pretzels, Sunchips, granola and apple slices.
I really enjoyed the size of the race, it was big enough to enjoy but small enough to not be overcrowded.
