This was a last minute add to our race calendar, but who wouldn't want to run along the beach??!!

This one had a 6:30a start, but we had a beautiful sunrise within the first 2 miles!!

The start was at Casino Beach under the Beach Ball tower. The start was on time and we headed out right on the parkway. The route took us in through a few neighborhoods, but the beach was visible the majority of the way. We exit the neighborhood and are back out on the parkway headed for the turnaround. The dunes and gulf are visible the entire way out!! And back for that matter!! The return route was the reverse of the out route...does that rhyme?? This was a closed course and you are on the parkway for about 8+ of the 13.1 miles.

We actually made it back in time for the awards...this never happens!! Since it was the inaugural running of this race, they only awarded the top 3 overall finishers male and female. Breakfast was included: potatoes, sausage, runny eggs (no pun intended) and biscuits. The swag also included a beer ticket and a 24oz tervis cup with the race logo. There were shirts available for purchase, tanks or s/s.

The weather was overcast and humid. As we were leaving the after party the sun was out in all its glory!!
