This is the first year for this race. I saw an ad on Facebook and was intrigued, so I signed up for it. I love that participants were given the option of a cotton shirt or a tech shirt (for an additional $5). Swag that all participants received included a Brewers-colored sweat band and a stick-on mustache.

The course ran around Miller Park. Although I was disappointed because the map on the website indicated that we would be running the warning track inside Miller Park but we did not.

There was only one water station close to the mile 2 marker. I think that all 5Ks should have at least two water stations.

There were two hills, one that was more gradual and the other was more steep.

Course music was not good; the production aspect of this event really needs to be stepped up. Using a free pandora radio station for course music is cheap. The start/finish line emcees were smoking during the race and not paying attention.

Post-race goodies included water, a protein bar, Cracker Jacks, a free beer (for those 21+) and a bottled protein smoothie. There were three backdrops to take pictures in front of and a professional photographer photo booth.

This event is self-timed, which also makes it seem cheesy. But I got the impression that most of the runners there were purely there for fun. Which is fine.

The course security was very rude to spectators from what I heard.
