Ashley Campbell's thoughts:

A few things to note about the RNR Nashville:
The date in April is highly subject to sudden changes in weather. Race starts have been anywhere from completely freezing and pouring rain, to 80 degrees and sunny. So beware when you sign up that you may encounter a race with potential to be very hot and you have not yet trained for it!
The RNR expo is awesome and very fun...dedicate a few hours to this. It's also great to spend time walking around downtown and catching the sights as well as a pre-race beer!
Course is hilly and there is just no other way around it. They are not short, punchy hills either. They are LONG and gradual inclines. When viewing the race profile, it does not look too menacing...but let me tell you do not be fooled!
Aid stations at this race are so much fun...lots of diverse themes, music, and cheering!! Some offered shots of beer..very festive and fun!
Finish line in 2018 was a hot mess. It finished at Nissan stadium but do not expect to be able to see anyone you know. I was running in through a gauntlet of thousands of people (lots of hype!) but it was really hard to actually find my family. Then we sat through the parking lot nightmare of trying to get out. That was a bummer.
All in all...I will probably not do this race again. I live in Nashville and I love my city but this race is huge. It's just not my style, but it is a lot of fun.
