I've always been a fan of destination races. It's a great way to combine vacation and being healthy. I had initially signed up to run this race with a friend who was training for her first half marathon. But a few weeks before the race, I was told that she was not going to be able to make it. Since I had already booked the entire trip, I decided to run the race anyways.

The race was a very unique experience, much bigger than any of the other races I've ran in the past. Course support was excellent and the views were just as great.

I'm hoping to run more destination races in the future.
